I am writing this appeal as I try to drain the rainwater from the place where we live.
Our home is flooded, everything is wet, and we are struggling just to stay safe.
The rain keeps falling, and we have nothing to protect ourselves.

Our clothes, blankets, mattresses, everything got soaked.

Living in a tent has become unbearable… feels like a disaster every day.

This hole we dug with our own hands is what collected the water and stopped it from flooding the place.
All day long we keep digging new holes, gathering the water in them, emptying them, and repeating the same work over and over again.
This is our struggle every single time… just to keep the place from flooding, and to stop it from reaching the point where we can’t even walk in it.

My brother started building a nylon cover that might withstand the strong wind and cold to shield us from it (it didn't actually, as this storm is truly severe and the place is now very cold), but I am just gazing at him and I am truly proud of how every one of us in my family has been an active element during all periods of the war. All six of us, including my mother, have been defenders of ourselves and we have truly been a support system for one another amidst the #genocide & beyond.

I am suffering from a severe wave of depression these days because of the reality I am living in, perhaps because it never meets the standards I once dreamed of..

However, the sight of these small cute plants, which my little brother Youssef planted, made me feel a great amount of love and inner peace!
