You’re already in a far superior – non-corporate, federated – space.
Do not sign up for W. And warn your friends.
The only time you have any power to stop this is now. If they succeed in gaining network effects, you will be as powerless to stop them as you are with X.
And yes, they’re just another venture capital funded surveillance capitalist, people farmer, and burgeoning Nazi Bar. They just happen to be based in the EU. (As Nazi Bars traditionally have been.)

@aral @_elena I don't really understand the tone of your comments for this European initiative. I'm surely not saying this is the right answer but if #mastodon is so far more superior, why weren't there more efforts past two years to make it really sustainable. Relying on goodwilling citizens time, effort and money to keep up instances, is not the answer. By doing so, unfortunately, it's doomed to stay on the side, because you know, none of the people I know are here too. The #EU ís, by the way.
