Slightly off topic but I've always found the logos and indeed the product UI designs of alternative and open source to be really amateurish in comparison to established products.

Sure, in almost all cases there is no budget. And often there is no reason to make demands of an open source developer who is doing it for fun or other reasons.

But it is a barrier to the vast majority of normal people adopting alternatives.
