I never block Palestinians, precisely because of what you say. They didn't choose their situation and they have no other choice.

With my previous post, I'm trying to speak to those who would block you. I do this to help Palestinians, to increase your reach.

On Bluesky and other hostile social media, your accounts were deleted. But Mastodon is friendly to Palestinians. Here we build initiatives like #GazaVerified and https://gaza-verified.org/donate and thus mentioning people is no longer your only choice to reach people. We who support Palestine are working on solutions so that you no longer need to say "we have no other choice but to mass-mention people". Together we can build a better future for Palestine, but for that we need that the people in the West place their trust in us and what we build. And if that trust is undermined, we need to explain that to Palestinians and work with them, so that we can effectively help them survive the genocide. Your survival is our primary goal.

I had my credit card blocked from donating to campaigns listed on gazaverified.org

Some people came out to point to me that many campaigns on the site appear AI generated.

Now. I of course don’t expect there to be NO scammers on the list. And I can imagine Israel would do it’s best to mark legit campaigns as scammers through banking systems.

But what do you have to say on this? You run the list, am I correct?

I know you are getting tired of getting mentioned every day by genocide victims in need of help.

The #GazaVerified team will be less tolerant with those who violate the rule to not spam people: for example by excluding them from the https://gaza-verified.org/donate page, which reduces their visibility and thus their donations.

Most Palestinians actually understand if you only talk with them. For example, I just got @sharifgaza to stop spamming you.

But he isn't yet verified by @aral and team because the waiting queue is so long. So that means he currently has zero visibility. He's not yet included in #GazaVerified and simultaneously we expect him to not mention us.

How is he supposed to survive a genocide then?

Can you help @sharifgaza out with a donation while he has zero visibility? Find the link to his fundraiser campaign in his biography.

Also, if we donate to him, we can send a strong signal to all Palestinians that they are indeed rewarded for their trust in our advice to trust in https://gaza-verified.org/donate instead of spamming us. That way we can progressively solve the spam issue that is exhausting us.

@sharifgaza Dear Sharif, I understand that your situation is desperate and your living conditions are horrible.

But there is no need to mention people. Westerners who want to donate already follow this website:
https://gaza-verified.org/donate

Donors will donate to those who received the least, so that donations remain fair for all Palestinians. Additionally mentioning people does you more harm than you realize because people will block you.

You will automatically receive money even if you never mention anyone. Some Palestinians keep mentioning donors regardless, but the #GazaVerified team will be less tolerant of this behavior.

If every Palestinian follows this rule, then donations will become much fairer for everyone and Palestinians won't have to feel like beggars anymore. It will solve the problem that some families receive $1000 a week while other families receive nothing at all.

If you don't follow this rule, then you will have big trouble receiving money, because:

- most people on Mastodon will have blocked you and won't see your messages anymore
- you will be excluded from https://gaza-verified.org/donate and receive even less than you receive now
