@Tutanota I suggest adding "❌ Suppression of Tor users (in my opinion by Tuta)" to the right side.
I tried to create an anonymous Tuta account when I was living in a dictatorship, and I remember it didn't work.
I was using Tor because I didn't want to be abducted into a concentration camp (euphemistically called "jail") by the dictatorial regime in retaliation for my legitimate and legal free speech I was planning to exercise using that account.
I strongly suspect the reason it didn't work was because IMO Tuta was suppressing Tor users.
So when Tuta is writing like this, in my opinion they are being hypocritical.

@clock We don't block this completely, but since spammers abuse Tor, it's hard to find an exit node that works for sign ups. Sorry about that, but we have to keep the spammers out of the system. The alternative would be to ask for phone numbers when signing up, and we really don't want that... Hope you understand!
@Tutanota we wouldn’t have this problem if people supplemented their opinions with factual information
@Tutanota I would add that robust moderation practices and codes of ethics around AI usage are also aspects of online safety. Age verification is just a way for tech companies to avoid accountability for having these in place.
@Tutanota I get the Point kind of but you can have online child porn exchanges with encryption, privacy & open source.
Those three are important but do not solve all problems.
I agree that government corporation joint venture age verification is not the answer.
But encryption, privacy and open source alone won't do it either.
@Tutanota Age verification is the greatest privacy invading nonsense and it's being pushed on all ends.
@Tutanota Das Internet soll (für diese Menschen) nicht sicher sein. Es soll überwacht sein, offen für die Reichen und Mächtigen. Verschlossen für alle anderen.
@Tutanota
well
a safer internet **for who** would be the question
@Tutanota Fediverse platforms feel so much better to come to, unlike Twitter (with tracking) etc.
It feels alive with real people, and not automation and AI etc.
When it comes to security and freedom, I would recommend using “free software” rather than “open source.” Open source is a technical concept that has been adopted by companies that care little about our freedoms and security, such as Google, Microsoft, Apple...
